Ocean Animals: Circle Map and Sorting

We introduced ocean animals with a circle map. Side note: If you are wondering why we are back to ocean animals, it is because this is summer school so we have different students. 

Here are some of the animals my kiddos came up with:

After our introduction, we sorted ocean animals. 

They sorted by color which I didn't take a picture of because they are all different colors.

They sorted by type:

Then they sorted by texture (rough/smooth):

The kids loooved this activity - they were really fascinated with the octopus!!
