Measurement with Bats and Pumpkins

We measured the length of bats using a variety of manipulatives (dice, dominoes, cubes, circles, and bears).  I gave each table a different bucket of objects and we rotated so students were able to measure with different things.

For area, we used pumpkins. Students ordered the pumpkins from the least area to the greatest area. They also recorded how many cubes fit into the area of each pumpkin.

Students loved the measurement unit. I can't wait until it comes around again!

Our glue did not stick too well, especially on the bat so we ended up stapling some of it. They turned out cute and the kids loved it!
