Buggy for Insects!

This week we have been learning about insects. We have learned a lot through stories. We learned that insects always have 6 legs and that some insects have antennae, wings and stingers. After learning how to identify an insect, we sorted bugs by whether or not they were an insect.

Students observed and decided which bugs were insects by looking at them through magnifying glasses. They loved this!

Reading A-Z has a VERY simple book (level aa) called One Insect that is about a boy drawing parts of an insect. We read it page by page as we drew the insect. The book says body instead of head, thorax and abdomen. Those were some of the words we were focusing on so we labeled using this vocabulary after we finished drawing.

I LOVE kinder drawings!!! So cute!
