Christmas Ornament Craft

My students had a blast making simple ornaments this week! Students traced lids to create the shape of an ornament and then cut it out. I precut squares of tissue paper. Students glued the squares onto the ornament until it was completely covered. Afterwards, they applied a coat of glitter paint to give it some sparkle! I went back and added string so they could hang it.

They turned out really cute and the kids loved them!

Enjoy your week!

Christmas/Winter 3D Shapes

3D shapes for Christmas/winter time!

The sphere is supposed to be a bell. Maybe I would've been better off making a sphere shaped present, but most presents aren't in the shapes of a sphere so I made a bell.

The cylinder snowman is my favorite! It turned out cute.

Next time I make the Santa hat cone, I will get cotton balls to glue on top. I just crumbled up paper this time because I didn't have cotton balls.

I usually print out labels that have the name of the 3D shape so parents will know what we are working on. I staple the label to the craft/shape.

Christmas Stocking and Lists

Who is ready for Christmas break?!? THIS GIRL! We have been getting into the holiday spirit in our classroom.

The stockings were hung...okay, maybe not, but they ARE ready for our Christmas party on Friday!

Our Christmas lists are made! Here are a few of them:

I can't wait to see if this kiddo gets a "sun" for Christmas! I ended up having about four kids write this because they saw this friend write it. Oh my.

There's a pattern for the writing above in my Christmas pack if you don't feel like preparing it. Go HERE to get it.

Christmas Literacy & Math Pack!

I can't believe it is already December - I love this time of year! If I could have a Christmas tree up year round, I would. My Christmas pack is now finished - woo hoo! Here are some things in it:

Below are the addition cards. There is also a recording sheet that will hold students accountable.

My kids LOVE the write the room center! It keeps them engaged and moving! If you teach kinder, you know it is a good thing when kids can move and get their wiggles out.

I love the "Stuff the Stockings" addition center! The kids read the problem and then stuff the stockings with the gifts to help them find the sum.

The pack includes:
  • Ten holiday addition cards
  • Holiday addition recording sheet
  • Ho Ho Ho game (similar to kaboom or bang)
  • Jolly Old Saint Nicholas - label Santa (in color and black and white)
  • Cookies for Santa Sight Word Game
  • Write the Room (8 cards)
  • Write the Room recording sheet
